Amit joined Active Care Group in September 2022. Before his appointment, Amit was the Clinical Director of Priory Group’s Forensic Network, bringing significant knowledge of the independent sector and establishing key relationships with external stakeholders.

Having graduated in medicine from King’s College London, Amit completed his specialist training in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry on the South London and Maudsley training scheme. Amit has also worked as a forensic psychiatrist in high, medium, and low-secure settings.

Amit has held senior consultant roles outside the secure estate, leading teams in psychiatric intensive care, acute, and personality disorder settings. This experience brings a breadth of knowledge and expertise in complex care settings.

In 2021, Amit sat as a representative for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Secure Provider Collaborative on the Women’s Secure Clinical Reference Sub-Group (NHS England and NHS Improvement).

As Chief Medical Officer of Active Care Group and Managing Director of Active Neuro, Amit leads our rehabilitation services for adults with neurological conditions, delivering clinically led, innovative, and technology-driven rehabilitation focused on achieving the highest quality outcomes.
