Alongside technology-enhanced rehabilitation, patients at Active Neuro will be supported with access to therapy led by our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT). Alan experienced rare, severe spinal cord compression from a calcified slipped disk in 2018, requiring complex neurosurgery that resulted in a life-changing spinal cord injury. He continues rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and pain management while fundraising for additional support. Determined and resilient, Alan strives to improve his mobility and overall quality of life.
Nick, 63, was admitted to Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in June 2025 for a four-week inpatient programme, following a brain haemorrhage the previous year. On admission, he had limited movement and sensation on his left side, with postural issues affecting both his left arm and leg.
Using technology including the ArmMotus™ M2 Pro and Luna EMG, Nick’s reach (measured using his chosen task of getting something out of the cupboard) improved from 98cm to 384cm and his active movement ratio from 29.4% to 60.4%. Nick exceeded most rehabilitation goals and regained much of his independence.
