Set in Kent within the 12-acre grounds of a manor house, Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre specialises in intensive rehabilitation for people in the early stages of recovery from a brain injury right through to residential care. Our team are experienced in managing associated needs, such as specialist spasticity management, PEG feeds and skin integrity problems.
Our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) work together to ensure every team member is working towards the same practical, realistic goals and all therapies are focused on the areas that will enable the individuals we care for to achieve their clearly defined and agreed goals.
The setting for our neurorehabilitation service is a purpose-built unit. We offer active, short-term rehabilitation for patients who have significant speech, functional or cognitive needs. Each patient has personal rehabilitation goals, and we work to a structured technology-enhanced rehabilitation and therapy programme to help them relearn and practise everyday skills to give them the best chance to return home.

Nick, 63, was admitted to Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in June 2025 for a four-week inpatient programme, following a brain haemorrhage the previous year. On admission, he had limited movement and sensation on his left side, with postural issues affecting both his left arm and leg.
Using technology including the ArmMotus™ M2 Pro and Luna EMG, Nick’s reach (measured using his chosen task of getting something out of the cupboard) improved from 98cm to 384cm and his active movement ratio from 29.4% to 60.4%. Nick exceeded most rehabilitation goals and regained much of his independence.
After a road traffic accident left her with a spinal injury, Ele used our ExoMotus M4 and therapy support to regain strength, mobility and independence.
From using a wheelchair, she progressed to walking again, holding her granddaughter’s hand, and attending her son’s sports events.
Ele’s determination, combined with our technology-enhanced care, changed her life.

I have really enjoyed my time at Hothfield. Everyone has been really friendly from the start and has made me feel very welcome. The knowledge that people have here is amazing. I was able to put things in to practice that have helped develop me as a therapist. I’m so grateful to have been a part of demonstrations and training as if I was a member of the team. I’ve had an overall lovely time being apart of the Hothfield team for 6 weeks. I’ve met some lovely people and learnt a lot of new skills. I have come away a more confident person and have everyone to thank for that.
A special thank you to all the staff for caring for me so well during my time here. I had a very positive experience and have really benefitted from all of the support. My room and bathroom were lovely. The Physio team are fantastic, and all the staff are so friendly.
