Ruth is an experienced and dedicated nurse with over 30 years in healthcare, specialising in neurorehabilitation and acute care. Her extensive clinical background includes emergency care (A&E), hyper-acute stroke, acute and slow-stream rehabilitation, palliative care, outpatient services, and the management of minor surgery. In 2020, she further developed her expertise by exploring advanced rehabilitation technologies in Switzerland and Austria, gaining valuable insight into the transformative role of robotics in patient recovery.
Ruth’s passion for neurological care is deeply personal. As a teenager, she overcame meningitis with the support of an exceptional nursing and therapy team, which inspired her commitment to a career in nursing. More recently, her son sustained a traumatic brain injury, giving her first-hand experience of the challenges faced by families navigating recovery.
These experiences have given Ruth a profound understanding of both the emotional and physical challenges faced by patients and their loved ones. She considers it a privilege to support individuals on their rehabilitation journey and is continually inspired by the resilience of the human spirit.
