Our services

Neuro Hub

Neuro Hub

The Neuro Hub is a state-of-the-art facility with advanced technology, providing modern, research-supported rehabilitation for individuals with neurological impairments, along with access to advanced rehabilitation tools and technologies.

The hub also includes a gym that offers adaptive equipment, personalised programs, and assistance from our expert therapy team, ensuring that everyone can engage in beneficial therapy at their own speed.

We welcome self-referrals as well as referrals from professionals in Medico-Legal, healthcare, social care, and the charity sector.

Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy

The rehabilitation process begins with a comprehensive assessment conducted by our team of experts. Hydrotherapy, which takes place in warm water with pool temperatures typically ranging from 34 to 35 degrees, is a type of aquatic rehabilitation.

Our therapists will identify a suitable hydrotherapy pool for you or your loved one based on factors such as location, transportation access, and mobility level.

Hydrotherapy is used in the treatment of individuals with various conditions, alongside other rehabilitation methods. Frequently, clients with neurological disorders can engage in water-based activities that they cannot perform on land.

Hydrotherapy is also employed to alleviate muscle spasms and enhance muscle strength for numerous neurological conditions. Our therapists will identify a suitable hydrotherapy pool for you based on factors such as location, transportation access, and mobility level.

We welcome self-referrals as well as referrals from professionals in Medico-Legal, healthcare, social care, and the charity sector.

Intensive Rehabilitation Therapy

Intensive Rehabilitation Therapy

The intensive rehabilitation takes place at our Neuro Hub and is delivered by our team from various disciplines. Repetitive and specific training exercises will be conducted to enhance neuroplasticity, which is the brain’s ability to adapt and form new connections to aid in bodily functions.

The advancement of assistive neurotechnology and robotics has enabled clinicians to boost the number of repetitions in sessions and enhance client outcomes over a shorter therapy duration.

Process

Our intensive neurotherapy programs require us to recommend that clients receive between 20 and 80 hours of therapy over a 2-to-8-week period. The therapy encompasses physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and therapy assistants. The allocation of each therapy type is tailored to your specific requirements and can be adjusted throughout the program.

Our Intensive Rehabilitation Service is suitable for individuals who have experienced a neurological injury like spinal cord damage or acquired brain injury. It is also beneficial for those dealing with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Cerebral Palsy, and strokes, which have significant life-altering symptoms.

Polytrauma Service

Polytrauma Service

Experiencing polytrauma, which refers to when someone has suffered multiple traumatic injuries, can profoundly impact and pose significant challenges. Individuals who have survived serious accidents often encounter a range of physical and emotional difficulties that necessitate thorough care. It is crucial for polytrauma clients to receive prompt rehabilitation and therapy to enhance their overall recovery process.

By granting prompt access to expert resources and support networks, we help our polytrauma clients navigate this challenging path to recovery more efficiently. Our multifaceted therapy approach ensures quality care for those in greatest need.

Our multidisciplinary team provides clinical assessments and treatment plans through a collaborative working approach involving physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and therapy assistants, tailored to meet each client’s specific needs. Clients and their families are encouraged to actively participate in developing and reviewing the rehabilitation plan.

Process

Our team will conduct a comprehensive assessment to start off the rehabilitation process. Based on your needs and objectives, a tailored rehabilitation plan will be created. This plan will include personalised therapy sessions utilising cutting-edge technologies such as robotics, sensors, and virtual reality tools, as well as traditional therapy methods.

Amputee Service

We work with clients who have experienced limb loss from road traffic accidents or traumatic event.

Our primary focus is on restoring clients to their pre-accident quality of life. Through collaborations with specialists, case managers, and prosthetic experts, we support individuals on their recovery journey. Our clients all share a common objective: to reunite with their families and resume their daily routines.

Following trauma, many patients who have undergone amputations or experienced limb loss may encounter phantom limb pain or residual limb discomfort. Our specialist physiotherapist, occupational therapists, and therapy assistants will work with you to review your pain management.

In our Neuro Hub, clients will have exclusive access to our robotic equipment, including the C-Mill treadmill, which enhances rehabilitation efficiency and improve functional balance, gait, and adaptability across various scenarios. This resource enables us to prepare clients for real-life situations and unexpected challenges, such as navigating through crowded spaces and evading obstacles.

Our team promotes active involvement of clients and their families in creating and assessing the rehabilitation plan.

We also collaborate closely with STEPS Prosthetics. Although STEPS Prosthetics is based in Sheffield, they operate a satellite clinic in Gateshead to evaluate new clients and monitor existing ones.

Working with STEPs Prosthetics allows us to provide comprehensive prosthetic and therapy services in a single convenient location, reducing the need for extensive travel between clinics and promoting optimal joint working.

Process

Our team of specialists will conduct a comprehensive assessment to start off the rehabilitation process. We can also arrange a joint prosthesis assessment if required.

Based on your needs and objectives, a tailored therapy plan will be created. This plan will include personalised therapy sessions utilising cutting-edge technologies such as robotics, sensors, and virtual reality tools, as well as traditional therapy methods.

Community Rehabilitation

Our team is ready to work with clients in any community setting, in addition to providing therapy at our Neuro Hub.

Therapy in the community allows our experienced team to provide personalised recommendations that align with the individual’s surroundings and daily routines. This enables us to customise exercises based on the available space and equipment, as well as to prescribe effective movement practices within the specific environment where they will be performed. Neuro rehab is most effective when focused on specific goals and tailored to the desired tasks or activities.

Our team will create an appropriate treatment plan and goals. You will closely collaborate with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and therapy assistants. We encourage active participation of clients and their families in developing and evaluating the rehabilitation plan.

By following the treatment plans and setting your goals, we can help you achieve greater independence and incorporate various activities into your everyday routine.

Process

Our team will perform a thorough evaluation to begin the rehabilitation process. A customised rehabilitation plan will then be developed according to your requirements and goals.
