Based in the North East, Active Neuro Rehabilitation Hub – Gateshead provides bespoke rehabilitation to people following a life-changing injury.
Our outpatient service is built on our ability to identify an individual’s potential to change at any stage of their rehabilitation journey. Following a comprehensive assessment, we deliver flexible, integrated therapy, building individualised and sustainable rehabilitation in accordance with their goals.
Our teams offer both gym-based and community rehabilitation services. Active Neuro Rehabilitation Hub – Gateshead is equipped with the latest rehabilitation technology, enabling us to provide a range of therapeutic interventions tailored to meet the needs of our patients.
Our service offering includes:
- Neuro Hub: our rehabilitation clinic and gym, equipped with advanced technology and staffed by an experienced team, is designed to enhance patient rehabilitation.
- Hydrotherapy: after a comprehensive assessment, our therapists will identify a suitable hydrotherapy pool for patients to ensure optimal treatment.
- Intensive Rehabilitation Therapy: Intensive rehabilitation is delivered at our Hub in Gateshead by our multidisciplinary team to enhance neuroplasticity.

Patient Story: Alan’s Rehabilitation

Alan experienced rare, severe spinal cord compression from a calcified slipped disk in 2018, requiring complex neurosurgery that resulted in a life-changing spinal cord injury. He continues rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and pain management while fundraising for additional support. Determined and resilient, Alan strives to improve his mobility and overall quality of life.
Patient Story: Ele’s Journey
Working with the therapists has given me independence and a much brighter outlook to my future living with this injury.
After a road traffic accident left her with a spinal injury, Ele used our ExoMotus M4 and therapy support to regain strength, mobility and independence.
From using a wheelchair, she progressed to walking again, holding her granddaughter’s hand, and attending her son’s sports events.

I honestly think the equipment is helping to alter my gait. I did a very long walk (for me) yesterday and although slow it felt much more natural.
The therapists who have worked with my son have been fantastic, helping him build strength, balance, coordination, and confidence. Now, at 16, he walks unaided and attends mainstream education.
