Active Neuro, part of Active Care Group has officially launched, offering transformative rehabilitation through technology-enhanced clinical pathways, for adults within the UK with neurological conditions resulting from injury, illness or disease.

Active Neuro features its own branding to highlight its unique identity while remaining aligned with the Active Care Group brand and reflecting the meaningful impact it will have on the patients it supports.

We’ll be launching Active Neuro for the private and ICB market, at our existing neurological services, to enhance our offering for individuals with neurological conditions. Phase one of the launch begins at 4 of our neurological services – Kibblesworth Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Gateshead, Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York, Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham and Hothfield Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Kent. We have invested in the latest rehabilitation technology at our services to give patients the best possible support in maximising their recovery through both inpatient and outpatient care.

The official launch began at our Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York, with the additional 3 services launching throughout 2025.

Chief Medical Officer and Managing Director of Active Neuro, Dr Amit Chatterjee, shared, “The launch of Active Neuro marks a significant step forward in how we approach the current national shortfall in the availability of high quality, neurorehabilitation beds. By combining evidence-based clinical practice with cutting-edge technology, we’re not only enhancing patient outcomes, but also creating a more engaging and personalised recovery journey. Our aim is to help patients regain independence and quality of life in a way that is meaningful to them.”

In neurorehabilitation, early access, repetition, intensity, and engagement are key drivers of recovery. The technology Active Neuro provides enables high repetition and task-specific evidence-based practice that supports recovery. Our offering will cover all aspects of rehabilitation, including upper limb, lower limb and movement and balance.

Gamification within the technology keeps patients engaged and motivated, turning rehabilitation into a more rewarding experience. Patients can track their progress from session to session, reinforcing their improvement and encouraging active participation in their recovery.

We’ve not only invested in cutting edge rehabilitation equipment but also conducted development work to enhance our existing environments, creating spaces that are high-quality, calm, welcoming, and supportive. These improvements create a homely atmosphere where patients feel comfortable and motivated, helping them achieve the best possible recovery, whatever that may look like for them.

Following a period of inpatient rehabilitation, patients will be supported to continue their treatment with access to an outpatient’s service. With support from the wider group, patients can also benefit from high-quality, home-based care through Active Care Group’s Care in the Home division. These care packages are designed around each individual’s preferences, lifestyle, and clinical needs, supporting independence and well-being in the comfort of their own home.

Active Care Group Chief Executive Officer Keith Browner summarises, “It’s an exciting time at Active Care Group with the launch of Active Neuro. Our goal has always been to deliver outstanding care to those who need it most. By expanding our services to include advanced rehabilitation technology, we’re enhancing our ability to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.”
