Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, Active Neuro’s technology-enhanced rehabilitation service for adults with neurological conditions in York, was recently visited by Rachael Maskell, Member of Parliament for York Central.
Active Neuro, part of Active Care Group, provides rehabilitation services for adults in the UK with neurological conditions resulting from injury, illness, or disease.
Rachael’s visit to Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre coincided with the recent enhancements to the environment and investment in rehabilitation technology.
Located in York, the purpose-built facility features 27 en-suite bedrooms set within a three-and-a-half-acre plot surrounded by diverse and beautiful grounds.
Rachael had the opportunity to experience the latest rehabilitation technology and therapies and observe how our multidisciplinary team collaborates with patients to maximise their recovery.
Active Neuro services are equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology, including anti-gravity treadmills, virtual reality exercises and functional electrical stimulation. These innovative tools support upper and lower limb recovery, improve balance and coordination, and help individuals rebuild strength and independence after injury or illness.
Describing her visit, Rachael said, “I was thrilled to be able to visit the rehabilitation centre and learn more about their amazing work in supporting adults with neurological conditions.
The recent technology and environmental changes that Active Care Group has invested in are brilliant and allow their team to provide innovative and intensive treatment and rehabilitation.”
David Williams, Service Director at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, added:
“It was a real privilege to welcome Rachael and showcase the progress we have made. Our investment in rehabilitation technology means we can provide even more effective, personalised treatment – giving patients the best possible chance to regain independence and quality of life.”
