Whether someone is at the beginning of their rehabilitation journey or working towards greater independence, returning home or regaining specific functional abilities, we shape rehabilitation around the individual and adapt it as their needs change.

Augmented reality, delivered through our Strolll technology, is a core part of this. It makes therapy task-specific in real-world environments, so the movements people practise translate directly into everyday life, and it captures outcome data in real time so clients and clinicians can track progress from session to session.

By combining clinical expertise in person-led therapeutic interventions with smart, data-rich, cutting edge technology, we deliver more personalised, measurable and effective rehabilitation, helping people regain movement, strength and independence.

Technology is never the whole day. A programme mixes one to one sessions, group therapy and hands-on treatment, and this person-centred approach helps people build confidence and work towards the outcomes that matter most to them.

This is what rehabilitation looks like when nothing is held back. Robotics that support a limb through movement it cannot yet make alone, sensors that read muscle signals too faint to see, electromagnetic stimulation that reaches deeper than hands can, and augmented reality that turns a room into practice for real life. Some of it is the first of its kind in the country. All of it sits alongside hands-on therapy, and every session is measured.

Reaching, grasping and using the arm again in everyday tasks.

Supports arm strength and movement through game-based tasks, with the level of challenge adjusted as you progress. Often used by people recovering from stroke or spinal cord injury.

Controlling the wrist for fine tasks such as turning a key or holding a cup.

Works on wrist strength, flexibility and endurance, helping rebuild the connection between the brain and the muscles that control fine movement.

Using both arms together from a supported, comfortable position.

Uses virtual reality exercises to build arm strength and movement, with training personalised to your progress and delivered in a comfortable, safe position.

A robotic exoskeleton that helps people with lower limb impairment stand and walk with support. It builds walking practice while reducing the strain placed on other parts of the body.

Steadier footing when walking, turning and standing still.

Restores ankle strength and stability, improving coordination, balance and range of motion so that moving around feels more confident and less effortful.

Reduces the effective weight going through your body as you walk or run, taking load off the joints while you rebuild balance and a more natural walking pattern.

Stairs, slopes and kerbs, practised safely before meeting them outside.

Brings flat surfaces, stairs and slopes together in one machine, so you can practise the walking you will actually meet outside in a safe and realistic way, building strength, balance and confidence.

SIS DUO


SIS (Super Inductive System) DUO

What it enables

Pain and stiffness reduced enough for the rest of the therapy to progress.

Uses a high-intensity electromagnetic field to trigger gentle muscle contractions deep within the body, helping to reduce pain, ease stiffness and restore joint movement. This is the first technology of its kind in the UK, and Active Neuro is the first independent provider to bring it into neurorehabilitation.

Detects muscle activity and supports strengthening and movement. It can be used at the bedside, so rehabilitation can begin early in your recovery.

Regaining lost function and easing stiffness through stimulation.

Uses electrical stimulation to help regain lost function, reduce stiffness and improve muscle strength.

Augmented and virtual reality

Strolll

What it enables

Real-world walking and balance practice in any room of the building.

Strolll uses augmented reality to bring therapy into real-world settings. Wearing a lightweight headset, you see visual cues and interactive games layered onto the room around you, guiding movements like stepping, turning and balance work. Because the practice happens in the environment you are actually in, the gains translate directly into everyday life.

Strolll is available at selected centres, and because the headset works in ordinary spaces, a session can take place in a corridor, a garden or a day room rather than only in a therapy gym. Practising in the places where movement is actually difficult means confidence builds alongside the physical gains, and each session records what was completed so progress can be reviewed with a therapist.

Ele

Working with the therapists has given me independence and a much brighter outlook to my future living with this injury.

Following a road traffic accident and subsequent spinal cord injury, Ele originally required a wheelchair to mobilise, and crutches for shorter distances.

Used as a standing tool alongside stepping and walking, the ExoMotus M4 stabilises her legs and holds her upright, letting her work on upper limb and core strength while standing. She can now mobilise independently over short distances.

One of her goals was to hold her granddaughter’s hand and walk alongside her in public, and to attend her son’s outdoor sporting events. She has since walked and watched her son compete in his athletics competitions.
