Flexible rehabilitation pathways

Meeting people at every stage of recovery, with the same expert team.

Across our specialist, purpose-built facilities, people benefit from safe, modern environments equipped with cutting-edge rehabilitation technology and dedicated therapy spaces.

Intensive inpatient rehabilitation

Intensive inpatient rehabilitation

Individuals receive daily, structured therapy and care within a supportive clinical environment.

Outpatient programmes

Outpatient programmes

Enabling people to continue their rehabilitation while living at home.

Outpatient with optional overnight stays

Outpatient with optional overnight stays

For those who need additional flexibility around travel, fatigue or family life.

Clinically led therapies

The latest rehabilitation technology, combined with a full range of therapies.

Every programme is built by a multidisciplinary team, so the therapies below work together around one set of goals rather than in isolation.

Physiotherapy

Regaining balance, strength and mobility, with rehabilitation technology alongside hands-on therapy, while managing pain and wellbeing.

Occupational therapy

Rebuilding the skills of daily living, from personal care to returning to work, so independence grows at home and in the community.

Speech and language therapy

Support with communication and cognition, and with eating, drinking and swallowing, including modified diets and exercises that reduce the risk of aspiration.

Psychological therapy

Cognitive therapy for memory and attention alongside talking therapy for the emotional impact of a neurological condition or brain injury.

Neurologic Music Therapy®

Delivered in partnership with Chroma, using music to support movement, communication and thinking skills. For people with disorders of consciousness we also use the MATADOC assessment to identify signs of responsiveness.

Hydrotherapy

Exercise in a warm water pool that may not be possible on land, easing symptoms, improving joint flexibility, strength and endurance.

Beyond your inpatient stay

Support that continues after discharge.

Rehabilitation does not end when an inpatient stay does. As part of Active Care Group we can connect people to the next stage of support, on the same record and with the same Clinical Navigator. For any of these, call 0333 052 7950 or email enquiries@active-neuro.co.uk.

Outpatient services

After an inpatient stay, people can return to one of our dedicated neuro rehab gyms as an outpatient, set new goals and build on their progress. Visit frequency or an intensive package is chosen to suit each person, with regular reviews until they reach their maximum functional potential.

Our therapeutic model of care

Rehabilitation does not stop at the therapy room door.

Our inpatient model builds recovery into every hour of the day, and into everything that comes after it. From pre-admission through to discharge, your Navigator coordinates the plan, aligns clinical and personal goals, and stays a constant point of contact for you and your family.

1

Pre-admission

Enquiry received, with assessment and reports completed within 72 hours.

2

Admission

A welcome, not a check-in. Our multidisciplinary team completes the initial assessment and sets goals with you.

3

Treatment

A bespoke therapy programme of typically 20 to 30 hours a week, set by your clinical presentation and funding pathway, combining technology-based rehabilitation with hands-on therapy.

4

Discharge

Outcomes measured against your admission baseline. Discharge planning starts early in your stay, with the option of continuing as an outpatient considered.

5

Onward pathways

Outpatient access with us, care in the home through Active Assistance, or supported living through Active Care Group, all on the same record.

What makes Active Neuro distinctive

One pathway, one point of contact, one consistent clinical record.

Therapists working with a client
Specialist neuro focus

Neurorehabilitation is a highly specialist field. Active Neuro is built around teams with deep experience in neurological recovery, spinal injury and complex rehabilitation.

Hospital-level care in a focused model

Active Neuro is one of the few providers able to offer hospital-level neurorehabilitation, including the only two Level 1 (highest acuity) neuro hospitals in the independent sector.

Technology and outcomes

Rehabilitation is supported by the UK's most advanced rehabilitation technology and measured through structured outcome tools and personalised goals, providing objective, evidence-rich material throughout the journey.

Tracheostomy and respiratory expertise

Highly specialist tracheostomy and respiratory services, including safe weaning aimed at supporting people towards discharge home, expertise that very few step-down providers can match.

National reach

Dedicated sites across the UK, with a growing geographical footprint so people can be placed within reasonable reach of family.

One connected pathway

Active Neuro sits within Active Care Group, so rehabilitation does not end at discharge. Clients can move on to supported living, care in the home, or continue as an outpatient, all connected by the Clinical Navigator.

Our highly skilled team

Every specialist discipline a recovery may need, under one roof.

Together, we deliver coordinated, person-centred care designed around individual goals. Every person we support is cared for by a specialist multidisciplinary team, coordinated by a Clinical Navigator throughout their rehabilitation journey.
