One pathway. One point of contact. One consistent clinical record from beginning to end.
Over the last thirty years, Active Care Group has grown into the UK’s most comprehensive specialist care network, with Active Neuro at the heart of our neurological rehabilitation services, supporting patients with some of the most complex brain, spinal, and stroke conditions in the country.
What I am most proud of is not simply the scale of what we have built, but how our integrated services work together in a seamless pathway for the patients in our care, their families, and the professionals supporting them.
Active Neuro operates the UK’s only two Level 1 neuro hospitals in the independent sector, which alongside our network of specialist Level 2 facilities provide the highest level of specialist neurological rehabilitation for patients with the most complex needs. Our inpatient services work seamlessly with our complex domiciliary care division, Active Assistance, and our expanding suite of outpatient therapy hubs to support integrated step-down following inpatient treatment.
We place our patients and clients at the very heart of everything we do and have built our services and care models accordingly. We strongly believe that no person should need to tell their story twice, and have designed our care pathway to eliminate the disruption of moving from care provider to care provider as individuals transition through their care journey.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss how we at the Active Care Group can support you, your client, or your loved one.
Six things we would want you to know.
Specialist neuro focus
Neurorehabilitation is a highly specialist field. Active Neuro is built around teams with deep experience in neurological recovery, spinal injury and complex rehabilitation.
Hospital-level care in a focused model
One of the few providers able to offer hospital-level neurorehabilitation, including the only two Level 1 neuro hospitals in the independent sector.
Technology and outcomes
Rehabilitation supported by the UK's most advanced rehabilitation technology and measured through structured outcome tools and personalised goals.
Tracheostomy and respiratory expertise
Highly specialist tracheostomy and respiratory services, including safe weaning aimed at supporting people towards discharge home.
National reach
Dedicated sites across the UK, with a growing footprint so people can be placed within reasonable reach of family.
One connected pathway
Rehabilitation does not end at discharge. Clients can move on to supported living, care in the home or outpatient therapy, all connected by the Clinical Navigator.
Clinical leadership with lived experience alongside it.
Samantha Barker
Samantha leads the Navigator Pathway across Active Care Group: a unique approach in UK complex care that brings rehabilitation, case management, specialist residential care, supported living and clinically led care in the home together within one organisation.
A qualified Occupational Therapist with extensive experience in neurorehabilitation, Sam joined the Group in 2019.
Steve Brown
Steve Brown, a former Paralympic Rugby captain and sports coach, knows what it feels like to suddenly find yourself on the other side of healthcare.
After sustaining a spinal cord injury in his early twenties, he went through rehabilitation himself and understands the questions, frustrations and uncertainties patients and their families can face.
