Helen Roberts, BSc (Hons), is the Service Director at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre, Active Care Group’s 27-bed neurological rehabilitation service in York.
Helen is a highly experienced healthcare leader with over 30 years of service spanning both the NHS and Royal Air Force. A former RAF Medic Warrant Officer, she brings a wealth of operational leadership experience alongside deep expertise in clinical governance, service improvement, and leading change within complex and highly regulated environments.
Throughout her career, Helen has led large multidisciplinary teams and delivered major national programmes, supporting organisations through significant transformation while maintaining a steadfast commitment to patient safety, quality, and person-centred care. She is recognised for her strategic thinking, pragmatic leadership style, and ability to inspire teams to navigate change successfully while delivering meaningful outcomes.
Outside of work, Helen enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy, and daughters, Millie and Daisy. A dog lover and keen wildlife enthusiast, she is also a published author of both children’s and adult fiction.
