Location Overview

Active Neuro Blackheath in South East London is an established provider of specialist inpatient rehabilitation for individuals with an acquired brain injury or other complex neurological condition. We are committed to ensuring our patients feel safe, happy and empowered.

At Blackheath, we are specialists in the treatment of patients over the age of 18 with physical and cognitive impairments and/or neuropsychiatric disorders resulting from a brain injury or other neurological condition. We support our patients through assessment, rehabilitation, support and care across two wards – the Thames Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit (21 beds) and the Heathside Unit (18 beds).

Facilities

Together, we deliver coordinated, person-centred care designed around individual goals. Every person we support is cared for by a specialist multi-disciplinary team (MDT), including:

Patient Story: Rob’s Story

"I was very delighted about my progress. I liked the fact that I gave my best and improved beyond expectation!"

Rob experienced a hypoxic brain injury following a cardiac arrest, leaving him unable to walk, speak clearly, or care for himself independently. He underwent eight and a half months of intensive rehabilitation at Blackheath, regaining his mobility, speech, and everyday skills with the support of the multi-disciplinary team. Determined throughout his recovery, Rob has since returned home to his family, having made a good recovery beyond his own expectations.
